Can airport express extend a network over a VLAN?

Hi,

Wondering if anyone's managed to do this?

I have managed switches with aggregated LACP LAGs between all key points in the network. Spanning tree (RSTP) is used to monitor and bring up additional links as required in the event of outages.

Previously I had a dedicated cable linking from an Airport Extreme LAN port to the WAN port of an Airport Express. The express was used as a wired repeater for the extreme.

Has anyone managed to replace this dedicated cable with a VLAN trunk, or any other way I might not have thought of? Looking for something better than just borrowing a cable run back from the LAG.

Thanks!
